Act fast to reserve this beautiful, all-new, remodeled, beachfront vacation home! This listing is for the downstairs "Barefoot Hideaway II" unit. Barefoot Hideaway is nestled back off the road and is right on the beach. The unit shares a building with "Barefoot Hideaway I" upstairs. Each unit has it's own private, locked entrance while having a common outer entry and laundry area. Each separate unit sleeps 10, or rent them together to sleep 20! Please inquire to book multiple units together. This vacation complex is on a truly beautiful and private part of the beach, and yet is minutes from downtown St. Augustine, Matanzas Inlet, and all of the area attractions!

This three bedroom, two bath unit is completely reconstructed and freshly finished in modern beachy decor to create the perfect vacation environment. It features an large back porch which overlooks sunrises on the beach and doubles the living space. Three bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable furnishings, and baths and kitchen are fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. The living area is light and bright and includes a dining area and a pull-out Queen bed. And the best part of all....Step out onto a little short boardwalk that takes you over the dunes and through your private gate onto the beach! Beach supplies such as beach chairs, towels and cooler are provided.

***Note: The pool heater is available from November 1st - April 15th. Heat for the pool is available upon request starting November 1. Please inquire for pool heating prices. Requests must be made at least 24 hours before checkin. ***

For your safety, the weight limit for bunk beds is 100 pounds.

We hope you enjoyed your stay! Check Out Time is at 10:00 AM! But before you leave, be sure to:
 

  • Please empty the refrigerator.

  • Place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start the cleaning cycle.

  • Please do not strip sheets but leave beds unmade.

  • Pile all dirty towels in the bathroom or laundry room.

  • If you have rearranged any furniture or placed any items out of sight, please put them back as they were when you arrived.

  • Please be sure to collect all of your belongings.

  • Please remove all trash and place it in the respective trash recepticle. 


*Please be considerate of the check out time since the cleaners need to get in to prepare the property for the next guests. A delay in check out will result in a charge of additional fees. Thanks so much and we hope you will come again soon!

MAINTENANCE

Please report any maintenance needs for the premises to the us and we will respond as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues including, but not limited to heating and air conditioning, appliances, televisions, and stereos.  Check out instructions as provided must be complied with. 

HOLD HARMLESS

Tenant and all other occupants willingly occupy these premises.  In exchange for being allowed to occupy the premises, Tenant, on behalf of himself, his heirs, assigns, and descendants, agrees to the fullest extent permitted by law, to release and forever discharge  iTrip or the Owner from any and all injuries, costs, damages, loss, death, or other claim or injury suffered of any nature whatsoever arising out of Tenant’s own negligence or gross negligence; the negligence or gross negligence of  the Owner or iTrip or any of its employees, managers, principals, owners, representatives, agents, authorities, leaders, or other person affiliated with it in any way; and the negligence or gross negligence of any other occupant in connection with the stay whether that be prior to, during, or immediately after the stay. By agreeing to these terms, and in exchange for being allowed to stay on the premises, you further agree that you will indemnify iTrip and the Owner and hold iTrip and the Owner harmless for any and all injuries, costs, damages, loss, or other claims made by all other occupants other than yourself arising out of or in any way caused by your actions undertaken in the course of your stay on the premises. Tenant understands that he/she does not have to stay on the premises and that without agreeing to these terms whereby he/she chooses voluntarily to waive any liability of iTrip and the Owner under the above terms, he/she will not be allowed to stay on the premises.

For pet friendly properties, pets must be approved prior to booking.  Request approval with number, size and breed.  A pet fee and/or pet deposit will apply.  Do not leave dog unattended in house unless in kennel. If your dog is interrupting the neighbors with any barking or noise, the dog will have to be removed and there will be a fine of $250. If you bring a pet to a non-pet friendly property, you will be subject to our $500 fee for house rule violation!

Nice home in a beautiful location but...

This property is two properties in one. The downstairs of the dwelling is one unit and the upstairs is a second, separate unit. The units have separate access so we felt safe and secure. Easy walk to the beautiful beach and plenty of beach chairs and other beach equipment. AC unit was not operating in top condition and we couldn't get the unit dehumidified. We let the unit contact know as soon as we arrived but it was not corrected. The unit is up-to-date and it has everything you'll need. Unfortunately, it seems there is no sound-proofing between the two units. Kids running across the floor in the upstairs unit are clearly heard in the downstairs unit. Not sure if our noise was disrupting the folks upstairs. Another issue was a chain-smoker in the upstairs unit who was smoking out on the patio and bathing us in cigarette smoke while we sat out on the first floor patio. Unacceptable. I asked them if they were smoking because I smelled cigarette smoke while sitting on the patio. They said no. I kept smelling cigarette smoke so I looked upstairs again and saw someone smoking. I mentioned smoking was not allowed. The person said "We have permission from the owner to smoke out on the deck." I contacted the property contact and asked if the upstairs guests were telling the truth. I received no response. Smoke all you want in the parking lot, away from the dwelling, but please don't smoke where it's going to bother others. If you are going to rent both the upstairs and the downstairs units, this is a 5-star property. If you are only going to rent the downstairs property, be forewarned.

Absolutely fabulous place!!! Beautiful inside with everything you need. Only real issue was the very loud stomping and running from the other unit upstairs. Beach was wonderful. It was very clean and well maintained!

- Lovely private beach access shared only with other guests staying in unit above and Flip flop Inn ( another guest unit on the property) - Modern decor and space - Cleaned well - Starter hospitality items provided and kitchen essentials Hosts did a great job with kind and consistent communication, they were quick to address any concerns during our stay. We would highly recommend this stay for families who would like to spend some time enjoying local treasures in St.Augustine as well as enjoy the beauty of Crescent Beach.

Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend

We recently stayed in Barefoot Hideaway 2 and couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The home is clean, comfortable, and well appointed with everything you’d need for a vacation (beach towels and chairs, kitchen equipment, linens, etc). The porch area is spacious and excellent for afternoons after a day on the beach. The beds were comfortable with quality linens. When we had a minor AC maintenance issue, it was swiftly addressed right away. Not only did they come within the hour to make a repair, they also went above and beyond to make our group feel special. We were celebrating a bride to be and they brought flowers to help us celebrate. You are in great hands with this company!

Beachside Hideaway Bliss

I can’t rave about this place enough. You can’t beat being right on beach like this! The house has everything you’ll need for a great stay and is totally updated and very very clean. It’s really hard to find a place this nice on the beach. We stayed with my parents and our two small children and everything was very clean and made with safety in mind. The beach driving is one way and has very minimal traffic, and not crowded at all. We had some loud neighbors upstairs but they were having a good time as were we, so didn’t really bother us at all. We are definitely coming back every year. You will love this place!

Fun in the Sun

Had a great family vacation! The beach house was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bedrooms are small but very comfortable. Great sized kitchen with nice appliances. Short walk on the boardwalk led to a beautiful beach with stunning views of the ocean! We stayed in the downstairs apartment. The only downside was the noise from the family upstairs ( they had lots of kids!) We would definitely come back !!

This place is beachfront and beautiful. Very well decorated, has everything you need. Very comfortable. The only thing we needed was a hammock! It was wonderful. I will definitely be returning to this unit.

Wonderful Location with Some Pros/Cons to the House and Accommodations

We are in the midst of our week stay at the Barefoot Hideaway II. I lay out some pros and negatives about our stay: + Location/proximity can't be beat. Proximity to historic St. Augustine, grocery, and restaurants. + Privacy/Access to Public Beach. Conservation area in between house and beach added to this feeling and we loved seeing the turtles roam around. + Modern/Clean décor with beautiful views from both indoor the house and the outdoor seating area + Quick communication from property managers + Access to Laundry + Basic kitchen supplies available + Beds are comfortable + Private hose access was nice after coming back from the beach - Would have liked some additional household items. Things we thought should have been provided (i.e., no garbage bags, toilet paper to match the number of people and length of time that we stayed) - The greatest con is the house is NOISY when someone is staying in the apartment on the top floor. We hear all footsteps and many noises - most I think are just normal moving about the apartment. Not much people could do without the owner making an insulation investment. Unfortunately, there was a family with kids in the apartment above who we think were jumping off their bunk beds and running across the apartment throughout the evening/early morning adding to the noise. Something you can't really predict in advance of booking. - HVAC unit was on the fritz when we got there making for a steamy first arrival; property maintenance wasn't done and turns out A/C filter hadn't been changed since January for our July stay, it was disgusting. - I know this is specific to our circumstances - we wanted to cancel/reschedule after learning about Florida's spike in COVID cases in June. The owners provided our options and mentioned we could reschedule, but after thinking about which option to take, they did not allow us to reschedule. It's a little grey (we waited a week to decide, and it was the week of our trip before making a decision), and we understand the hospitality industry is hard hit during this time...but, we thought they should have honored what they told us.

Great girls weekend

We had such a great stay at the Barefoot Hideaway 2! It is beautifully decorated and wonderfully equipped. Very spacious and has a gorgeous back porch to dine and just sit and enjoy. The beds were so comfortable and I slept like a baby! I highly recommend this property and plan on staying here again soon!

Fabulous vacation!!

We were very impressed with Barefoot Hideaway. It has recently been renovated and the finishes are absolutely perfect. They thought of everything, including nice beach towels and fluffy bath towels. The walk to the beach which is an easy one and we loved the views from this beachfront house. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners while we were there, and they could not have been any nicer or more hospitable. They handled one check-in issue quickly and completely, impressing us with their attentive response. We had four adults and five children, including an infant, and we did not feel cramped or crowded at all. The kids table in the kitchen was perfect for the two youngest children and the bench seat at the dining table gave us the perfect amount of space. This house sits well off A1A so you don’t even realize the road is there and you can’t even see it. The location is just a short drive to get to anything you need. Note: The side and back doors lock once you lift the handle up (that was unexpected).
