Small Pleasures
About
"Small Pleasures" on Oak Island, NC
As you approach “Small Pleasures”, the first thing that will excite you is the full wraparound porch. Enter from the ocean side and imagine yourself sitting at the kitchen table for breakfast, gazing out at the vast Atlantic. This quaint cottage has an amply stocked kitchen to prepare meals from breakfast to dinner. On the deck, you can enjoy dinner while feeling the ocean breeze. Two comfortable chairs and a side table are perfect for discussing the day's finds & planning out the next day.
If you’re a fisherman (or visited one of several local fresh seafood markets), you will love to cook your meal on the charcoal grill downstairs. While you’re waiting for your dinner to finish, hang out on the retro swings, and peek over the dunes at the pelicans as they fly over the ocean searching for their dinner.
Head inside on cooler evenings to work a puzzle, play a board game or a round of poker, watch one of several movies provided in the drawer or stream your favorite show on the smart tv. With a simple flick of the switch, cozy up with one of the various books or magazines in the warmth of an instant fireplace.
Both bedrooms have full-size beds and provide the added privacy and convenience of exiting through sliding glass doors onto the wraparound porch. One bedroom has a full view of the ocean and the other features an illuminating blue neon wave that is as alluring as looking at the crashing waves on the other side. Open the doors and breathe in the salt air. Nap listening to the seagulls, waves and the distant gleeful delights of children building sandcastles. Dream about the day you spent with your toes in the sand sitting in one of the provided beach chairs. Did you play any of the yard games? Giant Jenga, corn hole and yard-sized Connect Four are located in the utility room downstairs. Wash off the sand & salt using the outdoor shower on the deck walkway before heading in for a snack. Full-sized washer & dryer will get your bathing suits & towels ready for fun the next day.
The beach awaits you at the end of the short walkway & one of the many “Small Pleasures“ that come with booking this beachfront cottage is that you don’t have to find parking at a beach access because you have your very own!
What are you waiting for?! Hurry and book your stay now! We are excited to host you and your family's next vacation!
