In the quiet wooded section of Oak Island, amongst the natural landscaping, you discover the Blue Heron sculptures which are the namesake of the Blue Heron Landing. Located about a ½ mile to the beach (10 minute walk), you can choose to use the provided bicycles, drive, or locally rent a golf cart. If you peek in the shed in the backyard, you will discover 2 adult bikes & a kid’s bike with training wheels. Additional bicycles can also be rented on the island. As you head to the beach, grab the beach chairs, boogie board, kid’s fishing pole, kid’s ball & bat & sand toys. There is also a Halo scooter to explore the area. When you walk up the front steps, you discover a welcoming screened-in porch. Plenty of comfortable seating & a dining table for alfresco dining. This can be a quiet space to catch up on your beach read or gathering spot to plan the next day’s adventure.

Through the glass doors, you enter an open concept living/kitchen/dining area. The living room has more than enough seating to settle in & watch your favorite shows on the large screen smart TV. There is extended cable service plus you can log in to your streaming services. The coffee table is an ample space to assemble puzzles or play games. The dining table seats 4 in chairs & has bench seating on one side. The kitchen island additionally seats 4. As noted, you may also choose to dine alfresco on the front screened-in porch. With an outlet in the side of the island, it can become a mobile work/school space as well. The proximity of the dining & kitchen area makes service & cleanup a breeze. A walk-in pantry allows for easy arrangement of all your food & beverage provisions. This fully equipped kitchen has several helpful small appliances: Drip Coffee Maker, Tea Pot, Blender (island drinks anyone?), complete Bar Set (Make it & Shake it including a set of cocktail recipe cards for the adventurous), Hand Mixer & Dutch Oven for those who Brown, Braise & Simmer.

This cottage sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms: #1 Primary – king, en suite (shower/double vanity), walk-in closet/dresser, bench, overlooks the front porch; #2 & #3 – queen, closet/dresser & bench; both overlook the fire pit in the backyard & share the hall bath with tub/shower combination. A full-sized washer & dryer makes keeping your bathing suits & towels always in the ready.

Oak Island, a Family-Oriented Beach with a Large Variety of Activities. Choose from the Sand & Sun, 2 Piers, Museums, Nature Parks & a Skateboard Park. Seasonally: Outdoor Concerts/Food Trucks, Splash Pad, & Farmer’s/Craft Markets. The Iconic Landmark, the OKI Lighthouse is in Caswell Beach. You can Schedule a Tour Ahead of time Online. It’s a Short Drive to a Large Variety of Restaurants & Shopping opportunities. There are 3 Grocery Stores a short drive away. Nearby Southport is a walking town. Park & within a Short Stroll are Eateries from Breakfast, Lunch, Coffee & a Muffin to Seafood with a View & Upscale Dinner. In the Heart of Southport, you can Visit Various Beautiful Parks, Art Galleries, Museums, Visitor Center & Charming Shops. One could Spend an Entire Day Browsing all the Unique Little Gift Stores & Boutiques. Sit in the Swings on the Waterfront. Please note: Linens are included with your reservations and your beds will be made prior to your arrival. Also a Welcome Bag will be waiting for you upon your arrival with starter supplies which includes 2 trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher powder, washing machine powder, dish sponge, small shampoo and conditioner with bar of soap, make up remover, and 2 bottles of water.

If you are bringing a dog, the pet fee must be paid prior to your check-in. Limit of 1 dog - A non-refundable $200 pet fee will be added to the booking for bringing a dog. If you break house rules and bring more than 1 dog, a $500 pet remediation fee will be charged. If the reservation is marked as no pets, and evidence of a pet being on the property is discovered from your stay, you will be charged the non-refundable $200 pet fee plus a $500 pet remediation fee. (Only dogs are allowed under this policy. No Cats, reptiles, etc)
