Equipped with kayak, paddleboard, strong WIFI, Smart TVs, and a fully stocked kitchen, you will have everything you need to enjoy the Lake Life.
Kayak and paddle-board from dock to explore this beautiful, pristine lake. Property has 1 Kayak and 1 Paddle Board, life preservers and fishing rods are shared with sister house next door.
Taunton Lake is consistently ranked one of the cleanest lakes in CT and is well stocked with brown, rainbow and brook trout; large- and small-mouth bass; and white and yellow perch. No motorized boats are permitted making the lake quiet and peaceful.

Pets are welcome upon approval. Once approved a $25/day/pet fee will be applied.
The Cottage is adjacent to its sister property SUNNY DAY and is excellent for a family getaway, a relaxing weekend, or just a place to work remotely. Rent alone or inquire about renting alongside Sunny Day to enjoy more family and/or friends.
The home is a short distance from local breweries, wineries, boat rentals, grocery stores, coffee, and shopping. And if you want to hit the Big Apple, New York City is 75 miles away.

Sleeping Arrangements at the Cottage (occupancy 6)
Upper Level Loft:
- Luxurious Primary Loft Suite, King size, incredible lake views, with balcony overlooking living space. Large walk-in closet and a private bathroom with large walk-in shower. The lift picture is NOT operational. We provide Terra Pure shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for guests.
Main Level: There is no bedroom or bathroom on this level.
Lower Level:
-One bedroom with king-size bed and full private bathroom with tub/shower. Walkout to lower-level patio and the lake.
-Second lower-level bedroom with king-size bed also has walk out to lower-level patio and lake. Bathroom in hallway with shower.
- Futon in living space is great for child, linens are left in the hall closet.
- Pack-n-play is available with linens when requested. Highchair provided upon request.

Amenities:
Main Level: The main level offers a modern newly renovated kitchen and large family room. A large comfy leather sectional puts you in a prime position to enjoy lake views through a wall of windows. Colder months, enjoy the warmth of the fireplace and the amazing scenery.
House is secured by 24 hour Fire and Carbon monoxide detection.
Modern kitchen fully equipped. Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, cookware, utensils and dishes, Keurig and Drip coffee maker and all the essential tools for grilling, baking and/or making cocktails on the back porch.
Living Room is perfect for playing games, watching movies, or just catching up with family and friends on the large sectional couch in front of the fireplace.
Dining Area with seating for 6.
Walk out onto the deck with spectacular views and a great dining experience with gas grill.
Lower Level:
Cozy area for kids to gather and watch a movie or play games.
Outside:
Lakefront living features an oversized deck with gas grill area off of the main level. Great space for outdoor entertainment overlooking spectacular Lake Taunton.
At the water's edge is a large dock.
Lifejackets, beach chairs, towels, a Paddleboard and a kayak for guest use are available, lifejacks, oars and fishing poles shared with sister property next door.
Four parking spots are available. Three by the house and one by the road. There is no garage.
Additional Information
- Strong Wifi perfect for remote working
- Air conditioning and heating in bedrooms.
- Pets will be considered. Prior approval is a must. A $25/night per pet fee will be added. Unapproved pets will be charged a minimum of $250. Pets are never allowed on furniture and must be crated if left alone in the house.
- Beach chairs (boat house at sister property) and towels (lower level closet) are available.
- Fishing all year round on Taunton Lake... ice fishing in January and February!
- The fireplace is operational in the colder months, please do not use it during summer. Logs can be purchased at grocery store.
- The starter amenity pack includes Terra Pure shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods, a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a roll of paper towel, laundry detergent. All of which should get you started with your stay.
- Fresh linens and towels. There is no daily cleaning service.
- Guest Access. You will have access to the entire property for your stay. An electronic code will give you access to that home at check-in and will be disabled upon check-out. You are welcome to ship packages to the home during your stay.
- The lift shown in the pictures is not operational. This property is not handicap accessible.
- Newtown is a “small town” in Southern Connecticut 75 miles outside New York City. Newtown and its surrounding towns offer historical charm, hiking & biking trails, pick-your-own farms, creameries, local wineries and breweries, amazing restaurants, entertainment and shopping.
SURVEILLANCE
For your safety, a security camera (a Ring doorbell) is located at the front door. The camera is facing towards the front yard and does not look into any interior spaces. We do not monitor this camera during guest stays. There are no cameras or listening devices inside the property.

ITEMS LEFT ON PROPERTY
Any items left that a guest wishes to be returned and shipped will incur a fee.
AUTHORIZED PETS ONLY
Pets are allowed with prior authorization; guests must inform us of any pets before arrival. An additional pet fee of $25 per approved pet per day applies after booking (rates negotiable for stays longer than 5 days). Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Pets must never be left alone in the home unless crated. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. A min. charge for $250 will be applied to bookings with unauthorized pets.
We require at least one party member to be 25 (twenty-five) years of age!
FALSIFIED RESERVATION
Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of the reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
UTILITIES
No compensation will be given for the temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or telephone service. Outages will be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to restore them as soon as possible.
NONSMOKING UNIT
Smoking is strictly prohibited. Your damage deposit will be forfeited and you will incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and deodorizing if any evidence of smoking is found.
NO PARTIES or ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
ENTRY BY OWNER
Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: in case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed-upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; supply necessary or agreed-upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters, or contractors. The owner will provide the renter with at least 24 hours' notice of the Owner's intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency).
SLEEPING CAPACITY/DISTURBANCES
The maximum number of guests allowed is 6. Violations of our noise or the maximum number of guests agreed to at the time of booking will result in possible fines or immediate eviction with all loss of all rent. Depending on the severity of a noise situation we may call and issue a warning or proceed with a $300 fine. If we cannot reach the guest who booked the property, someone will show up to, at a minimum, issue a $300 fine and/or evict the entire group immediately. Any delay will result in us involving the authorities and trespassing every person on the property as well as the loss of all rent. Additional fines or damages may be assessed after removal.
PARKING
There is parking for 3 cars. There is NO street parking.
HOLD HARMLESS
iTrip or the Owner does not assume liability for loss, damage, or injury to persons or personal property. Neither does the owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss, or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in the supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity, or plumbing, as well as due to weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
MAINTENANCE
Report any maintenance needs for the premises to us, and we will respond as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues including, but not limited to, heating and air conditioning, appliances, televisions, and stereos.
LINENS/TOWELS/SUPPLIES
Any lost or damaged linens will be deducted from your deposit or automatically billed to the card you used. We recommend that you bring any special items that you may need.
SECURITY CAMERAS
There are RING cameras on the front door. RING is used to monitor the exterior of the home and does not face any of the common outdoor living spaces. There are no cameras inside the home.
FIREPIT
The fire pit is available for guest use at their discretion. Guest must provide their own firewood; none is provided. Fires must be attended to at all times and extinguished when no longer in use.
FIREPLACE
The fireplace is not operational during colder month. Please do not operate in summer.
LAKE
Swimming in the lake is permitted but entirely at your own risk. Please exercise caution and be responsible for your safety while enjoying the lake. By choosing to swim, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk. Any paddleboards, kayaks and/or lifejackets used must be returned to its original location.
ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The undersigned Tenant, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Owner from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of any injury, loss, or damage by whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising therefrom. In any action concerning the rights, duties, or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors, or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover any reasonable attorneys fees and costs. Owner reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at their discretion at any time.
